Building Wraps & Large-Format Graphics

In 2010 our team wrapped the Hollywood Sign — the largest wrap in Hollywood history — so when we say we handle large-format work, that's the scale we mean. Building wraps, storefront graphics, printed murals, construction barricades, scaffolding banners: if it has a surface, we can design, print, permit, and install graphics on it. Large-format work is a different discipline from vehicle wrapping — wind load, substrate condition, access equipment, and city sign codes all come into play — and we've spent 28 years learning those lessons on real Los Angeles buildings. Whether you're a property owner turning a blank wall into revenue, a retailer refreshing a storefront, or a contractor who needs a block-long barricade to look intentional instead of abandoned, we handle the project end to end.

Our Process

1

Site Survey

Every large-format project starts with a site visit. We measure the surfaces, assess substrate condition — brick, stucco, glass, metal, and painted surfaces each take different materials — check access for lifts or scaffolding, and photograph everything the design team will need. Guessing from street-view photos is how large-format projects go wrong.

2

Permits & Approvals

Los Angeles regulates signage, and a building graphic installed without the right approvals can be ordered down. We'll flag when a project needs sign permits or landlord approval, prepare the drawings and specs those approvals require, and build the timeline around them so nothing prints before it's cleared.

3

Design & Proofing

Our designers work at actual scale, accounting for viewing distance, obstructions, and how the artwork breaks across windows, doors, and panel seams. You review scaled proofs — and for big walls, we'll mock the graphic onto photos of the actual site so you see exactly what the street will see.

4

Production

Graphics are printed on media matched to the substrate and the intended lifespan — perforated window film for glass, high-tack conformable vinyl for textured walls, mesh or banner material where wind load demands it — then laminated for UV resistance. Everything prints in panels sequenced for clean on-site alignment.

5

Installation

Our install crew handles everything from ladder-height storefronts to full building elevations requiring lifts. We schedule around your business hours and pedestrian traffic, manage safety and site protection, and seam the panels so the finished graphic reads as one continuous image from across the street.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did you really wrap the Hollywood Sign?

Yes — in 2010 our team wrapped the Hollywood Sign, which remains the largest wrap in Hollywood history. It's the project we're proudest of, not because of the headline, but because it proved what disciplined large-format work can do: enormous scale, unforgiving conditions, zero room for error. Every building wrap we install benefits from what that project taught us.

What surfaces can you apply graphics to?

Glass, smooth and textured stucco, brick, concrete, metal panels, temporary construction barricades, scaffolding wraps, and banner frames. The material changes with the surface — textured walls need conformable high-tack films, glass takes optically clean or perforated window films, and windy exposures often call for mesh. We match the media to the substrate during the site survey.

Do building graphics need permits?

Sometimes, and it's better to know before you print. Los Angeles distinguishes between signage, murals, and temporary graphics, and the rules vary by zone and by what the graphic depicts. We've been through the process many times and will tell you early whether your project needs a permit, landlord sign-off, or neither.

How long do building graphics last?

It depends on material and exposure. Premium laminated wall vinyl on a sun-facing exterior typically performs for several years; interior and shaded graphics last longer; barricade and campaign graphics are built for their run and priced accordingly. We'll spec the material to how long you actually need it — there's no point paying for ten-year media on a six-month campaign.

What does a building wrap cost?

Large-format work is quoted per project because square footage is only half the story — substrate, access equipment, permits, and installation height all factor in. Send us the location and rough dimensions and we'll walk the site and give you a firm number. Storefront window graphics start modestly; full building elevations are serious projects, and we'll be straight with you about the budget either way.
